Turned
The shadow of a sphere is on the bottom
and its highlight is on top.
If they are switched, then the tile is turned.
Location
Because of perspective, larger spheres
appear nearer to the bottom of the picture.
The pattern of the highlights also gives a clue
to a sphere's location.
In variation 1, one of the light sources comes from the left.
So the farther away a sphere is from the left,
the more its highlight is shifted to the left.
In variation 3, the pattern of the highlights gives away
their location, but not the same as variation 1.
The location of one of the highlights is different
depending on its location within the grid.
The light source is located near the upper right corner.
So spheres with highlights in the center of the sphere
go on the right hand side of the grid.
spheres with highlights that are farther to the right
are located in the left part the grid.
spheres with highlights higher up
are located farther down in the grid.
Reversed
Variation 2 has three highlights with a "v" pattern
that points to the left.
If it points to the right, the tile is reversed.
