Location, Turned and Reversed
All clues in this puzzle are in the form of relative speed.
In variation 1, there are five bubbles.
Two of the bubbles move left and right
near the top and bottom edges,
but the top bubble moves about twice as fast.
Two of the bubbles move up and down near the center,
but the right-hand bubble moves about twice as fast.
The fifth bubble moves in a circle at a medium speed.
So if you remember that right moves faster than left
and top moves faster than bottom,
you can correctly locate and orient the tiles.
Variation 2 has the same pattern of variation 1
repeated four times, once in each corner.
Each copy has the same speed profile
except for the circular-moving bubbles.
You can still identify the orientation by noting that
right moves faster than left and top moves faster than bottom
within each copy.
You can identify each copy's location because
each circular-moving bubble moves at a different speed.
Circular-moving bubbles on the right move faster
than those on the left.
Circular-moving bubbles on the top move faster
than those on the bottom.
Variation 3 has 16 copies of variation 1,
but it uses the same relative speed pattern
as variation 2 for locating the
circular-moving bubbles.
Speed Tip
Use the key tile method to quickly determine
whether a tile is reversed.
All circular-moving bubbles normally move
in a clockwise direction.
During cycle reversal, they all move counter-clockwise.
Once you've determined the correct orientation
of a tile, use this as your key tile.
Make all other tiles conform to the same direction
as your key tile.
