500 point limit in straight pool?
VP3 has 250 limit and VP4 500, so little better. But what if you want to break Willie Mosconi's 526 run? Is there a text file in VP4 that can be modified?
Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
No, but let me know when you get to 500.
Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
lol
You can intentionally foul several times before the break for now.

Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Great idea, thanks. A few fouls and I was at minus 40. So now I can make 540 run...
Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Actually we should consider English Billiards for the point limit.
The WR is 1276, much more than 14-1.
And can we have 5 points adjust below 100 and 50 points adjust over 100?
For 1C and 3C it's not enough only with 15,25,50, 5 points makes difference.
For English Billiards, 150,300,500 is quite far too.

Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
I found a bug. When you reach minus -99, it will stay at -99 won't go to -100. When you foul 3 times in a row, the game crashes.

I can't believe no-one ever tested this case before the releaseConcentrator wrote:I found a bug. When you reach minus -99, it will stay at -99 won't go to -100. When you foul 3 times in a row, the game crashes.

Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Yes, that's a nice find. Can't wait to see this fixed
In straight rail billiards the longest run is above 3000.

In straight rail billiards the longest run is above 3000.

If you want to make a 600 run, and the limit is 599, you need to make two balls in the same shot at 598?

Wow I didn't know that!zwylle wrote:In straight rail billiards the longest run is above 3000.

Ok, I got to 600 now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4OtgCWd ... lMukTjne-Jvpeer wrote:No, but let me know when you get to 500.
When will you increase the point limit to 1000?
Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Unbelievable, good name, Concentrator

I can't believe you really tried to do it, so soon!
I think the limit can be up to 5000 or 9999 since it's quite the same as 1000 in a program.
And please can we have 5 points adjust below 100 and 50 points adjust over 100?
Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Yes very impressive. Of course when playing by yourself, you have training aids and the "u" key to undo any shots. If any
of these aids where used they won't show up in the VP4 recording.

Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Oh yeah Larry, I didn't think about that.
Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Looking at the positional shots of the guy I don't think he used training aid like the lines...

Tracking lines were disabled. This can be seen by opening up the Save Game file. http://www.coconut-audio.com/images/other/vp4/598.vpg
Here is the position at 598.

Yeah lines or not, no matter.
At 1:18 you can clearly see how the game racks two different racks so - nice try.

Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
There are many instances the rack being changed after this one too
Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Yes, you are right. So not impressive but an ordinary cheat

Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
Racks seem to change every time, while cue and break ball don't. This might be a bug in the recording or something.
I'm not 100% percent sure this 600 run is real (anyone remember Apollon's 147 snooker break screenshot? lol).
But he's capable of making such a run in VP, no doubt.
Just record it with a computer opponent playing you next time.
EDIT:
I can confirm that racks change for me too when I watch a recorded game of straight pool.

Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
I noticed in Patricks reply he mentioned that tracking lines werent used, however he never mentioned if he used the "U" key. For the hell of it I tried it and guess what. you guessed it you can run as many balls as you like if you keep using the "U" key as Larry mentioned. Good call Larry. And, Patrick nice try....but no cigar....You would have been better off showing how cheat videos can be easily done by using the "U" key instead of trying to decieve us.....

So you want proof? In tournaments the Undo is disabled, but the limit is 150. I will show 150 and out video, no undo possible!JohnSlingBlade wrote:I noticed in Patricks reply he mentioned that tracking lines werent used, however he never mentioned if he used the "U" key. Re: 500 point limit in straight pool?
In quick play the undo is also disabled if you play with AI or another human opponent (and get the limit of 600)... Just because there might be a change that the video is faked it doesnt mean it 100% sure is. gl.Concentrator wrote:So you want proof? In tournaments the Undo is disabled, but the limit is 150.
