What

Your Owner Name on
your Today Screen must match the
Owner Name in your receipt. Check
your Owner Name by selecting Today
off the Start Menu. Make sure it
matches the Owner Name on
your receipt. To change the Owner
Name select it with the stylus and
enter a new name in the Name box.
If you need a new Owner Name,
contact support@celeris.com
and send your new Owner Name and
your purchase number.
What should I
do if the Installer says
"There is not enough space on
the mobile device?
You must free some
space or install to another
destination media. You can install
to alternate memory if you have it
or other storage media like Smart
Cards or Flash memory. The
installation process must copy the
file over first and that takes
temporary space, the size of the
download. To free space you can
remove other programs. You might
want to look around with explorer
for any "dead" stuff
that was left around when programs
were removed. If you are
installing to main memory, try
stopping all running programs to
maximize free program memory.
Why
does my installation from my
desktop computer fail with a File
Not Copied message?
You probably are
out of storage. If your installing
from your desktop computer, you
need 22 MB free storage for
Virtual Pool Mobile for Pocket PC
. Though VPM does not use this
much storage the installer copies
the file over first so you need
extra space. If installing into
main memory the installer will
borrow space from the program
memory. When installing in
alternate memory or a storage card
it uses the same media for the
temporary storage to you really
need 22 MB free to install.

What should I do?
You need to
download gx.dll from here
and put it in the Windows
directory on your PPC.
Connect to your PPC using
ActiveSync and select Explorer.
Open My Pocket PC/Windows and copy
the file to there using a copy
from a normal Window Explorer
window on your PC.
The
music is skipping during game
play. What should I do?
On some slower
Compact Flash or SD storage cards
the music may skip because it
can't be streamed of the card fast
enough. Either go to settings and
turn off the music or re-install
VPM on a faster storage card.
Why why do I get a white screen upon game
startup when trying to play the Dell X50v/51v version of Virtual Pool
Mobile ?
The white screen strongly indicates a problem with
OpenGL-ES in that the textures are not getting loaded. This is most
likely because another program is using the GL-ES system and has used up
the available texture memory. Make sure you don't have any other
applications running. We have had reports of several 'Today Screen' type
applications that improperly use the GL-ES system and thus other GL-ES
games/applications cannot run
Game Operation
Will
playing Virtual Pool Mobile damage
my Pocket PC screen?
We recommend you
use a screen protector for you PPC
even if you don't play Virtual
Pool Mobile. Screen protectors are
cheap and prevent scratching the
screen with the stylus. They come
in model specific sizes or
universal trim to fit. Some
are more sticky when sliding the
stylus than others. A smooth thin
protector will work better for
stroking the cue.
How do
I pause the game, save games, get
help, etc. during game play?
Press the hat up
or to your right in landscape
view.
I
can't seem to hit the cue
ball. What am I doing wrong?
The proper method
for hitting the cue ball is as
follows:
-
With the
stylus, press the
"Aim/Shoot" button.
-
Place the tip
of the stylus on the wood part
of the cue stick. At
this time, the wood part of
the cue stick will get much
brighter to let you know that
you are 'holding' the cue
stick. Continue to apply
pressure to the stylus.
-
Drag the
stylus back and then forward
to and through the cue
ball. The cue stick
should follow the movement of
the stylus and strike the
ball. It is important to
make sure that the stylus
remains in contact with the
screen during the entire
stroke.
Why do
I select buttons sometimes when
I'm stroking the cue?
You are probably
trying to hit the ball hard and
lifting the stylus. Slow
down some and keep the stylus on
the screen. You don't need to
press hard, just go a little
slower.
What
can I do to control cue ball speed
better?
Make longer smooth
strokes. Stroke through the cue
ball, don't hit at it.
What
am I doing wrong when I try to
shoot sometimes nothing happens?
That is caused by
grabbing the cue tip instead of
the cue stick. When touching the
cue tip, the ferrule (the white
part) gets brighter. This is how
you move the cut tip to apply
spin. To shoot the ball, you
should touch the stylus further
away (toward the butt end of the
cue stick) on the wooden
part. The entire cue stick
will get brighter when you grab
the cue.
I'm
playing a career and it's too hard
or too easy. What can I do?
Career mode has 4
skill levels: Easy, Medium, Hard,
and Good Luck. Choose the
appropriate skill level for your
ability. All of the early opponent
play pretty poorly and the later
opponents all play pretty good.
The easier skill levels will spot
you more games and the better
players will take it easy but they
still play well (there supposed to
be good).
What
are the numbers next to the
computer player names in Quick
Play?
Those are the
player ratings where 1000 is very
poor and 2000 is very good. You
can pick the guy that matches up
well with your skill level.
