Question about cue's ( Real Life, not VP )

I play already a long time snooker, but now I want to play pool as well in real life.
That brings me to cue's.
What differs snooker-cue's from pool cue's ?
If I want to buy a pool cue ( not a break cue or a jump cue ) what should I pay attention to, to see what a good cue is and what not?
Can you buy a good cue for around €250 ?

The main difference between both is 2" longer, 59" instead of 57". Also snooker has thinner tip than cue's.
