AI Tournament players

Post by Albinario »

How about adding some AI players to the tournament system.

They can be entered into tournaments that don't have enough players in them by the TDs. They would show on rankings same as all human players.
Could be a nice alternative to cancelling a tourney cause it only has 6 or so human players.

lol

An option would be to advance the AI most likely to win, the higher rated one I guess... Saves time.

I want to see the AI winning a tourney someday... Congratulations to Curly for winning the Friday Night 9ball...

Yes the minor problem is that the TD would have to keep an eye on matches containing AI players to make sure of the result, and to make sure the human player doesn't press ctrl-t whenever he's in a tricky spot.

I suppose so... doesn't have to be a td though i guess - any trustworthy witness might do.

Well adding lots of computer players is just nonsense, if this is really going to happen there shouldn't be more than 2 or so in a normal tourney. Would be easy for the TD to keep track of matches then.

I don't think there will be need for more than 2-3 AI's anyway, no matter how many players are willing to sign up. We're not talking about running a tourney with just the TD in it and 5 AI's, right?
