Changing cloth colours gives two different greens
I think there seems to be some sort of anomally in VP4 where changing the cloth colour looks a little weird.
There has to be some sort of explanation for this.
As an example im talking about the standard snooker table colour of green and what happens of you change to another colour cloth and then more importantly if YOU DONT CHANGE IT BACK CORRECTLY*********
In order to test this theory I would like people to set up a quick play frame of snooker and go to hard times.
When you start the game your snooker table should be in standard green cloth, however what Im noticing is this.
If you then go into settings and misc that then allows you to change the cloth colour,if you change it to any other colour and look at the table, then once youve done that go into settings again and misc then change it back to green colour you should notice a more washed out look to the table cloth colour as well as the balls.
However if you then go back into settings and misc if you then change the cloth colur to DEFAULT instead of green you will then immediately notice that the fullness and richness of colur comes back into the picture. The green looks more vibrant and the reds look a fuller red.
Why should this be the case?
Here you see picture one which is the table with the table colour set to green in settings/misc
And now in this picture table cloth colur has been set to default in settings/misc.Now you see theres a big difference in comparison,so now you have two different greens and my question is which one is the right colur? And its got nothing to do with calibrated and non calibrated monitors is it?

Re: Changing cloth colours gives two different greens
I think picture 1 is the one from after the patch and the second one from a not patched VP4
In the second patch the colors have been made darker if I remember correctly...
That makes the first one the correct one.

Everything is darker in pic #1, even Gollum in the upper right corner.

Lol both those pics were taken within 2 minutes of one another, its got nothing to do with patches. Its to do with how you choose the green colour for the table.

No, the 2 different kinds of green table felts create an optical illusion which we discussed on gsa today. The background lightnings/contrast whatever are the same on those screenshots if you eliminate the green tables which fool your eye/brain. Here are the 2 screenshots side by side and table covered with black :sharkey9 wrote:Everything is darker in pic #1, even Gollum in the upper right corner.

Re: Changing cloth colours gives two different greens
I don't see this as a bug but the option to change the color slightly.
If you don't like the default Snooker green, choose 'green' in table cloths and you may like that one better.
Would you rather elminate the option to choose?

Re: Changing cloth colours gives two different greens
What im saying is this has been the cause of people complaining about the colour differences in the first week of vp4 and it wasnt really made clear of how this issue came about at the time........now its clear k.
Re: Changing cloth colours gives two different greens
There was a (slight) change of the default color with the first patch too though.

Basically the snooker table has an unique form of green as default, which I think looks great. The 'green' you select in options would override it with the green from the pool tables (which is a bit more towards blue). That's what I made of it... is this correct?
Re: Changing cloth colours gives two different greens
Almost.
Just that not all pool tables use the same green either.
Hard Times default looks like the green in settings.
If you try for example Hawg Pen with both, default and green you'll see a difference too.
