It's a great idea! It would be great to be able to implement all kinds of tournaments.
There is one called (in my country..) swiss tourney: let's say 16 players who play a first round match; winner gets 3 points, loser 1 and there's 2 points for a draw to each player. After this first round there's a ranking; and then matches are fixed as follow: 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, 5 against 6 etc...
You make seven rounds of 8 matches each and the winner is the one with the most points.
This is kind of a long tourney, i'm aware of that but with 8 players.....
Well i guess i needed to practise my english today so sorry for the long useless post lol.

Shooter....did you have software for running them..or were they on paper???

Im desperate to have something thats easy for a fool like me to use....and no, people wouldnt run out on them....not when they know death isnt an easy option.... :club:

PS I have agreat idea for round robin tourneys which im calling round robin accumulator....its a way of keeping people till the end of the tournament.....simply because the way Ive devised it....no one will have numerically lost until the final round....A great idea although I say it myself

Yes.Shooter knows what he's talking about.

Simon had written an absolutely fantastic round robin program that was so easy to run and kept fantastic details. Shooter was running DE tournaments several times a week.

In almost EVERY tournament. 2 or 3 people would never finish playing the matches.

I've asked Simon if he still has this DE program he wrote because its perfect for what we need. But its his choice if he wants to let us use it or not.

Thats partially correct. Simon did write some awesome software for the roundrobins. DE format has nothing to do with it. Everyone played everyone a designated amount of games, usually between 3 and 5 games.

For every 10 people who entered 4 to 5 left without finishing their matches.

Still.....those who did play in them liked them and those who stuck around to the end, always said they would keep playing them.

:bootyshake: I will have my rules all set out and written up.
I will be able to take care of people who pull out :shotgun:
I will have everything sorted to accomodate such things happening.
But I will also make a note of those that pull out of the tournament and will hold it against them probobly fora number of months. :pottytrain2:

I dont care if its a death in the family :irule: I wont take that as an excuse or a simpler one like we got visitors....anyone who withdraws from my tourney will get barred from the next one...and I dont care who that upsets.

But to be more specific....it will be in those participatings interest to stay till the end...because of the format, you could conceivalby still win.when you think you might not have enough racks.
The format will be such that there is no set amount of racks you can win.

But Im not divulging any further info on that for the moment......... :blabla: :excited: :sign20:

If not, just set something you would like to play, no TDs needed :king:
