VIRTUAL POOL DEMO

Postby 9balldotcom » Wed Dec 26, 2012 7:37 pm

You can now try out Virtual Pool 4 before you buy.
The demo version allows two players to play a rack of 6ball and you can download it directly from here

I've been waiting for this. After downloading and trying, I've just purchased.

Three comments. The download is incredibly slow - less than 200kB per second on a connection that can manage more than 10 times that.

Second, you should switch your DRM to trial/serial. That way, people can play the full simulation for up to 30 days with no demo required, needing a serial number to continue after that. Adobe does that on some applications, and it seems to work very well.

Third, the NVidia 3D support on VP4 works, but the hot-keys don't seem to work other than the one for turning it on and off. Not sure if this is an NVidia thing or a VP4 thing.

This new version plays as close to real pool as anyone could hope for . Cheers to Steve Chaplin and his design team for creating a simiulation so realistic that understanding the physics and possibilities of any shot is easily represented. VP4 is not only the end result of someone who understands the meaning of a "Standard of Excellence" but who understands the Great Game of Pool . Awesome
