Shadow errors with VP3 DL

Any pointers to fix a shadow error when I'm getting at certain zoom positions. I've reinstalled the game, redownloaded and reinstalled the latest vp3dl, refreshed dx9 files from the latest redist, and upgraded vga drivers.
I suspect it occurred back in August after installing VP4, but I'm not sure on that.
My vp3dl box is windows xp 32, nvidia 9800gt vga, latest nvidea driver
