Lag for break.

Post by 9balldotcom »

Lag for break is a good idea in principle but in some games for example if you lag for break it should be lag to see who chooses who breaks.

Snooker you should be able to choose who breaks off after you win the lag and also in straight pool where youd normally put your opponent into break in that game.

So can you have a pop up window for games like that where its a good tactical move to make your opponent break so that you can choose and make them break.

Or is it simply set as its an option you win lag you break......so the solution is then dont use it?

We've had a bug open for this in the past but Steve decided to not do this.
Maybe he changed his mind... ?

The Lag option is a great touch. However, it would be better and more real life if it left the first shooters ball stay on the table while the next player lags for break , so you can visually see the results instead of taking the computers word for it. It would be nice to have the ability to see how close you were to the other players lag. Also, after the lag is there an easy fix to have a "Choice Screen" like there is in snooker VP3 giving you the choice to "Play" or "Pass" to your opponent . This would be ideal for straight pool where most real life straoght pool players would normally pass the break. In some rare cases where you have the ability to preform the opening break sequence near perfect. I remember playing Jack Colovita and Grady Mathews, where I won the lag and they both returned a near perfect rack after driving 2 balls and the cue to the rails and returned to the pack, and left the cue at the bottom rail for me to shoot. So a choice to break after the lag would be vital. Also the "Coin Flip" any chance to have something other than the game just putting you up to break, because if you select "Coin Flip" nothing on screen shows, just puts you up to break.
