Loss of audio on slower collisions

Post by 9balldotcom »

Ive noticed this to the point that its now bugging me.

i dont know if its the same in the Pool games as im referring to Snooker in this post.

Ive noticed that if the cue ball is rolling around the table and as its slowing to a stop collides with another ball, there is no audible confirmation of said collision.....its silent.
If you hit anything with harder momentum youll get a collision noise as normal.

There seems to be a certain level in the game where there is no audio if the weight of collision is not deemed powerful enough and thats not right to me.

In real life if the balls collide very slowly there is always a tickle of noise, there isnt in vp4 as it is now.
Interested to hear the reason for this.

It's a bug, in both Snooker and pool.

Not a bug, by design. There is a collision speed limit below which no sound will be made. We can lower the limit some probably, but it needs to be in there, can't remove it.

IMHO it should be as low as possible.

Here here i thought it was a reason it was like that but it should be as low as its possible elkse it just looks a bit daft with silent ball collisions.
