New Patch 3.2.3.0

Post by zwylle »

EDIT:

Due to problems with lag and choppy gameplay the latest released patch 3230 was recalled by Celeris. The official version for tournaments and other competitions will be turned back to 3225.
Celeris will continue working on a new patch.

To go back to the old version you have 2 options:

1) Download this zip file: http://www.vp3help.com/dls/vp3dl3225.zip and unzip into your VP3 folder C:\Program Files\Celeris\Virtual Pool 3 DL
It only contains the vp3dl.exe from 3225. Replacing it brings you back to 3225.

or

2) Uninstall 3230 and do a complete re-install with 3225

A BUG in the new patch!

Post by TheLuckyCue »

Seems to still have a problem!

[/quote]Using amplify during ball in hand allows moving the cue ball through other balls and if another key was pressed while moving the cue ball, it could be dropped inside another ball. :bs:

Oh by the way that screen shot is with the new 3230 patch!!!
I just played one game an when it reracked this problem existed.
Now when i released the M button it poped out of the ball to the correct position.

I just had a quick look and the problem has been fixed.
The game allows to move through a ball so you are able to reach isolated areas of the table where the ball setup doesn't leave a path to move the cue ball inbetween.
The problem was that when amp was on and you moved the cue ball through another ball and at the same time pressed another key (ie D) and then released only M, the cue ball used to get stuck in the ball.
It is not the case anymore.

RECALL

Post by Apollon »

The only thing i can say to Celeris about this patch is: RECALL IT
For those who tried it - no farther explanation needed. Do it ASAP too.
I thought the 3223 one was the worst of them all - i was wrong, this 1 hit the bottom.
Reinstalling with firewall & antivirus down according to Celeris advise in the pop up window during installtion makes no change - i've tried it twice...
The pop up window should say not IF you encounter problems, but WHEN

After having played snooker for quite a while tonight i found that suddenly my game went choppy and I got an error message and then it crashed to desktop.

Dont know for sure if this is connected with the patch or not.
However what i did find is that the game automatically booted to safe mode.

IS there a stun bug again??? well i havent experienced it personally, however my opponent played a shot that went way off line and after closer examination of the replay was difficult to come to any conclusion.

I do beleive that Celeris declare there is no such thing as a stun bug or that they have done in the past(or maybe was it someone else who told me that) not sure.

On the other hand tho Ive played a fair few frames of snooker with the new patch against other players with no problems evident at all.

Something may well need to be tweaked again, but only minor in my opinion.

One other thing I also found that after my game had crashed and rebooted i also found that on rejoining the room,I could not type in the chat window and I also could not collapse the chat window...I simply had to ctl alt del to get out of the game.

Lag problem fix

Post by Apollon »

I have tested the unoficial patch for lag problem in 3230 patch - it works fine for me. I was asked not to share it publicly, since it's unoficial fix.
I'm guessing oficial fix from Celeris is soon to follow

It may take a few days, but Celeris is working on fixing the issues.
I agree with 9balldotcom that they are minor.

Concerning the 'stun bug'..
I couldn't find it in this version.
Are you sure it's there?
Could anyone who has experienced it in 3230 create a savegame file with it?
