Jupp, i'm back. Well Offline that is.
I've played VP3 since the day it was released. I have lot's of great memories, from playing the game and not forgetting all the great people.
I even had the nr1 spot on the ladder rank, well at least for a few days. Buring HOT I think it said ;-)

However this game has also for years, been a royal pain in the ass. Well of coerce it's not VP3 but insted :mumum: F.....Gamespy Arcade.
I've made several combacks to the game in the past but GS was allways a pain. I even bought a new router one time just so I could play VP3 online.
I played a lot with some friends, witch also had these problems, we talked on the phone and rarly counted the same amount of rooms, yes we refreshed at the same time.
Joining Tornaments was also a pain, as the matchroom was open but I coulden't see it. I got tired again and again from asking the lobby questions like "How many rooms do you see?"

Well I figured it was time to try again becuase I've got a new router and a new OS.
Windows 7-64 playes VP3 fine. But as usual GS F...'s it up again. I can't join the VP3 room, downloading cfg files. Support says. No Support for GS in Windows 7
Vp3 is the best pool game ever made, no alternative. But GS is in my book the worst online "client" ever made.

Well I hope VP4 will be all we have wished for. In the mean time I'll go and play some RL pool with a good friend who played the US Masters and US 10ball in Las Vegas this year :strokeit:

PS I'm no stranger to opening ports or run a rack of balls ;-)

See ya when VP4 is out.

Hi just to let you know i just got a new pc with windows 7 onboard and had the same issue with gamespy arcade and this message about downloading files.
That problem can easily be resolved for you as one of my online contacts sent me the files i needed,so i can supply them to you to hrlp with the gamespy arcade issue.

Your main problem like i and many others had is the router issue and if you say that you know how to set the ports then it shouldnt be a problem for you if you have the correct ports.
These are the ports you need to open 13139, 27900, 28900, 29900-29901, 60876 - 60887 both TCP and UDP.
What make and model of router is it?

If you still have problems I can try and help you, just look for me in the vp3 lobby

That's great news mate.
Ports should be ok allready, but I need the files you mentioned to test if GS works.
If this is the case, simply copy and past a few files, then why isn't it in the Support FAQ.
Do you want my email or will you upload it somewhere.

Thanks for helping out, as you've done for many years now =D>

Yes it's not a windows 7 compatibility issue, it's Gamespy that's fecked. You cant download any files from there at the moment regardless of OS.

Whoohoo It works.

Celleris should send you a check every month or at least one for all the help keeping VP3 alive all these years.

Thanks again for your excellent help.

Kind Regards

Tore from Norway

PS. Perhaps you should make a sticky out of this and upload the files to fileplanet or such.
