It is with deepest sympathy and sadness I have to announce the passing of JohnSlinglblade
John's real name is John Novak and we hadnt seen him around VP4 for a few months and even though we had a contact number for him on his cellphone we were getting no reply, only voicemail.
When I got involved in testing VP4 prior to its release John was the first person on my list to get involved in testing as I knew his knowledge of Pool and in particular some of the more obscure rulings could benefit in the development of the game.
Myself and John used to chat for hours on teamspeak and watch online Pool matches and many tournaments and events and John had many stories he would tell me and others about people he had met with and played with over the years.
We all knew John was not in the best of Health but it still does not make things any easier to know that we have lost a senior and valuable member of the VP4 community.
For many it was difficult to understand the problems and difficulties that John was going through during his time with us on VP3 and VP4.
He was a straight talking guy and you might not have agreed with him and I even argued with him on various subjects, but we never lost any respect for each other as it was all forgotten within 5 minutes.Life was too short
For John this is the case and Ill miss him.I enjoyed being your online friend and I wont forget you.
The news of John's passing was confirmed by his nephew via Facebook who we contacted via Johns Facebook friends list

JSB and me were like fire and ice. Nevertheless, RIP John. We shared interesting times together. I will remember you as the walking encyclopedia of pool. Never forget.

Very sad news indeed. Many do not know how much John contributed to the development of this great game and I also have him to thank for many a useful tip on the straight pool tables!

Let's hope there is something after 'all this' and that he is now at peace and is and will in the future be once again with the people that he cherished the most.

RIP JSB, thanks for the knowledge!
