Randomly create pairing when the fixtures are created When allowing players to form their own partnerships, one of the players will sign-up, adding both players. The other player using the system...

Another idea, i do not know if it already is in discussion, is to create 4 groups of 4 players and let play them each other. only the 2 best one goes throught the KO-elimination rounds (something like round-robin i think).

Like football's champions league.

i think sharkey is right, it doesnt make sence if you set up world championships in any game type.

I think there are only 4 game types, which should called 'world championship':

1. 9-Ball
2. 8-Ball
3 Straight Pool
4. Snooker

Any other types should be called different.

another option is to play cowboy on monte carlo instead of 1 cushion.

first: the tables (and rail speeds) at the main tour of snooker are different, too.

second: nothing to add to sophisticated beggar's comment.

why dont you come in the vp3 lobby in gamespy and play against "real" players?

to train you can play offline with two human players.
so you are not reliant on computer opponents.
