Re: Snooker Championship settings
Actually, the situation you described is very much possible in VP4, and that's exactly the pocket looseness problem I was referring to. If this forum has file attachment option I'd attach some save games for you to see, where the ball hits a rail first and then still goes into the pocket, which is w...

Re: Snooker Championship settings
Hugh I did most of the VP4 Snooker testing - physics, game rules, pocket tightness, table speed, pocket cuts, etc' - corner pockets are actually too forgiving and we have photographic evidence of that in the bug tracker in the form of re-playable save games. According to Steve this cannot be fixed d...

I see market description has been updated. Too bad Snooker is not one of the available games Until it's added - count me out on this one.

Re: Virtual Pool Mobile for Android smartphones
VPM Android has been released: http://www.celeris.com/virtual_pool_mobile_android.html The information on Celeris website regarding supported list of games is truncated - it say "6 Pool Games: 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Straight Pool, ..." and Android Market description does not have the list of sup...

Re: Windows 7 support for VP3
Dual booting via a second partition on your HDD will not duplicate anything on your current W7 installation. You'll just get two versions to choose from (as long as boot.ini is updated) on booting the machine. But I FULLY understand your caution if you've not done this before - creating partitions ...

Re: Windows 7 support for VP3
I appreciate the advise. I'm in no position to screw around with my system by installing another copy of Winblows on the same hard drive, which would modify boot record, duplicate system and documents folders, create extra user profiles etc'. Right now this is my primary and only computer and it has...

Thanks for the prompt reply. I've already tried 95% of the things both of you suggested. I've tried all compatability modes ranging from Windows 98 till Vista SP2 - made no difference. I've tried reinstalling the game at least 4 times into different folders, and fully wiping the registry and hidden/...

Re: Windows 7 support for VP3
With all do respect - speculations about the root cuase of the Windows 7 compatibility problems dont help us - people want solution. Latest Windows operating system, supported for VP3 by Celeris is Windows XP. Windows XP was released in February 2002 and we're in the second half of 2010 - are we ser...

Re: Windows 7 support for VP3
1. Ask them to export the "Application" and "System" log from their Windows Event Viewer and send it to you. Very likely one of these 2 or both will have application or service or isolated dll which is failing. 2. Create and send them debug build - executable of vp3.exe only, whi...

Giving a bump to this thread - any update on Win7 support?? Re: Windows 7 support for VP3
I'm not sure how it can be my hardware issue, given the fact i had been running VP3 on WinXP for over 2 years now, on this exact same notebook with the same graphics card and video ram until a month and a half ago when I upgraded to Win7. Because Win7 handles the video completely differently than W...

Camera - not sure exactly where the cutoff is but with phone optics my guess is once you get past about 5 or 6MP does not matter, can't tell the difference. On point and shoot cameras the cutoff is in the 8-10MP range depending on the optics. I can tether my iPhone to my laptop and connect to the i...

Re: Virtual Pool Mobile for Android smartphones
VPM for Android is not in the making at the moment. Google made a poor decision in going with Java and Web apps as that is not very good for games. I suggest getting and iPhone if you really want to play VPM. Thanks for the reply...I might have to hold out for Windows Mobile 7 then, as Microsoft sa...

Re: Windows 7 support for VP3
We probably will give it a try, not sure how soon. Sounds like a graphics driver issue though NVidia is usually pretty good. The current VP3DL uses a very old version of D3D so that could cause some issues. Multi-monitor can also cause issues though it should not unless perhaps the multt-monitor mo...

Running fine here on various Win7 RTM machines with Nvidia cards (8800GT and 7600GS and an Asus EeePC with the built in Intel 915GM POS). What you are decribing sounds more like a hardware issue, namely video ram that is ready to go tits-up or is overheating. I'm not sure how it can be my hardware ...

Virtual Pool Mobile for Android smartphones
I've had it with winblows mobile dumbphones - even the best of 'em freeze, hang, unbearably slow and often produce application errors. So, I'm considering Android smartphone for around xmas update and to make this decision would really help to know if Celeris has any plans to support the fastest gro...

Re: VP3 Priority Question...
I can confirm with 100% certainty that vp3 does switch process priority to low at all times, regardless if it runs as desktop window or full screen. That problem has been annoying me for many years, the issue is noticeably affecting VP3 performance on older, slower computers. It stopped affecting me...

Windows 7 support for VP3
Did a quick search - seems like no one has brought this up so far. Given the fact, Windows 7 was already released to hardware & software manufacturers and MSDN subscribers on August 3rd, and the release date for the rest of end users is October 22nd - I think it's about time to pop the question....
