Re: VP4 bad Ai programming and stutter

You forgot those on-purpose misses. Either leaving you in a perfect snooker or, when at an easy 9ball, when the comp thinks you should win the rack. Or AI positional play utilising pocket corners, caroms with every other ball on the table, always ending up in perfect positions. Always putting a smil...

Re: Pivot vs Rest

Let me get this straight.
I don't say it is a cheat, it just made me feel it was. Kind of.
And if you read my post I used the terms "almost" "most likely" "advantage" etc.
I'm not insulting anyone, just expressing my feelings.

Re: Pivot vs Rest

It is a huge advantage. In another post I even called it a cheat - because you almost can't go wrong. Just aim and add any english you like, make sure it won't swerve and your shot will most likely go in. Even if you add english by accident, pivot saves you the pot. On the other hand if you play &qu...

Re: 1 Bug and 1 Complaint

The need for altering the perspective was the reason why I complained. This takes away flow of my game.

Also, a bit off the rail is not enough. Say, 3 balls away from rail, cue is still lifted a bit.

Re: 1 Bug and 1 Complaint

No I don't press a certain button IRL - but I can SEE where my tip is.
I can't in VP in certain situations.
With a centered tip I KNOW where it is without beeing able to see it.

Re: Another Bug

Are you sure? A referee would warn the player after a second miss. He didn't need snookers after miss #2 but after he missed his 3rd attempt. Or are you saing a loss of the frame only occurs when a ref calls 3 times "foul and a miss". That would be clear then because she would not call the...

Yeah more backstroke please.
Still feels like playing in a too small room hitting the walls with the butt.

Re: Another Bug

Yes that was the case.

After his third miss he needed snookers and I got the options to play or let him play. Correct so far for that special rule.
But nonetheless he missed three times so the frame should have been lost.

Yeah lines or not, no matter.
At 1:18 you can clearly see how the game racks two different racks so - nice try.

Re: Another Bug

It was.

Even if "snookered" by a cushion, according to the official rules, a ball can not be snookered by a cushion.

Another Bug

I was playing a frame of Snooker, only the last 3 colors left on the table.
The Comp had a bad leave quite on the edge of the middle pocket but the blue was free to hit.
He completely missed it 3 times in a row and the game did not call the frame lost.

Re: 1 Bug and 1 Complaint

Pivot english, also known as back hand english, is a way to apply english with less deflection. In real life play to be exact and commonly used k Aah ok. Back hand english, I see. I never use that technique maybe that's why it's making me dizzy in VP4 and feels unnatural. However it does NOT apply ...

Re: 1 Bug and 1 Complaint

I believe the main reason the cuetip was lifted when you have to shoot from the rail is to make the chin on cue option work and make it feel more realistic. IMHO stun or draw from that position is still much tougher IRL than in VP, and of course you can't apply it there either without looking at it...

Re: 1 Bug and 1 Complaint

No nothing camera related just the way the game handles the cue tip position when your cue is anything but flat parallel with the table bed. When the cueball is anywhere near a ball or a rail the game lifts the cue and thus adds follow. It just raised the butt in old versions. So, for example, to pl...

Re: 1 Bug and 1 Complaint

Well the guy I played few games is stuck at 1700 something, any new opponent I choose stays at his initial score. The cuetip issue forces me to change my playing style. It takes away my play-by-feel attitude. I always played draw and follow just by feel without even thinking about it. Now I have to ...

1 Bug and 1 Complaint

The Bug:
After playing some racks and frames in quickplay, AI players are now stuck on their points. They neither gain nor lose any points anymore.

The complaint:
I'd like to have the cuetip centered with each shot again as it was in all former versions of VP. Or as an option at least.

Yeah I tried pivot but immediately set it back to none. Pivot is kind of an aid and feels unreal.
I'll try some cues, thx for input!
